The distribution firm will launch in the first quarter of 2024.

Alexandrion Group, which also distributes alcoholic beverages, first introduced its portfolio of spirits and sparkling wines to Japan through a business reception in Tokyo.

The company’s products include Carpathian Single Malt Whisky, Brâncoveanu Vinars, Alexandrion, Kreskova Vodka, Saber Elyzia, Rhein Extra or Hyperion.

Dr Nawaf Salameh, the founding chairman of Alexandrion Group, said: “Alexandrion Group has grown so much in the past few years. We sell our products on almost every continent and because we have already sold some of our products in Japan and the customers’ feedback was very positive, it made perfect sense for us to take the next step forward.

“We will open a distribution company in Japan in the first semester of 2024 – a country where consumers appreciate well-made, premium spirits and wines like ours. We are also exploring three routes, which will enable us to produce our own drinks in Japan: we will either buy a land plot to build our own distillery, sign a joint venture with a partner to build a distillery together or buy an existing distillery.

“The demand for Japanese whisky is very high on the markets that are part of our distribution network. When our distillery in Japan is ready, we will produce it ourselves and then export it to those markets.”

The company’s sales strategy in Japan will focus on premium and ultra-premium spirits and wines.

Alexandrion Group aims to sell more than 50 types of single malt and blended malt whiskies in Japan, alongside its Brâncoveanu Vinars, Alexandrion Flavous brandy and Saber Elyzia fruit liqueurs.

In the second quarter of 2024, Alexandrion Group will release premium and ultra-premium rums in Romania and Japan.

In February this year, Alexandrion Group opened a second distillery to increase production of its Carpathian single malt whisky.
