Heavenly Spirits was founded in 2008 and is a US importer of French spirits, while the squadron is the only official Mousquetaire group in the US.

The event was held at the Duquesne Club, a private social club in Pittsburgh.

Around 40 people attended the seminar, during which the Cooneys gave an overview of the history of the Gascon region, how Armagnac became integral to the local culture, and how it continues to develop its reputation today.

The session concluded with a tasting of nine different Armagnacs, from an Armagnac-fortified apéritif wine to a 25-year-old Bas Armagnac.

The Duquesne Club’s executive chef, Michael Caudill, and his team created a pairing menu of petits-fours to accompany the spirits.

The Armagnacs tasted are part of the Heavenly Spirits portfolio, including Artez, Dartigalongue, Delord, Château de Hontambère, and Marie Duffau.

The Cooneys were inducted into the Compagnie des Mousquetaires in 2017 while visiting the Gascon town of Condom, France.

In 2023, Christine Cooney was awarded the Ordre du Mérite Agricole for her exceptional services to agriculture.
