Cazcabel debuts añejo
By Lauren BowesTequila brand Cazcabel has added a new expression to its range, which was aged for 14 months in ex-Tennessee whiskey barrels.
All of Cazcabel’s Tequilas are made on the Vazquez’ family estate, using 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the family’s fields for a minimum of seven years.
The añejo expression has a ‘rich flavour profile’ with notes of ‘cinnamon, vanilla and dry cacao’.
Nate Sorby, Cazcabel’s global brand ambassador, said: “Appreciation of Tequila is evolving across the world and increasingly people appreciate the experience of sipping Tequila to savour the flavour.
“Añejo, our new aged Tequila with distinct notes of cacao and cooked agave, is best enjoyed neat or over ice.
“It is a fantastic addition to the Cazcabel range and the perfect introduction for those wanting to try aged Tequila.”
Cazcabel Añejo is available from specialist retailers in the UK for £43.99 (US$55).
Cazcabel’s range includes both a blanco and a reposado bottling, as well as flavoured expressions of coconut, honey and coffee.
Earlier this month, Cazcabel announced a series of events to mark Margarita Month.
As of last year, the brand is available in the US following distribution agreements in several states, including California, New York and Kentucky.
In 2022, CGA revealed that Cazcabel was the UK’s biggest-selling 100% agave Tequila in the on-trade, having grown by 857% in the three years.
