Altos to host Margarita celebration
By Lauren BowesPernod Ricard-owned Altos Tequila has partnered with London’s Donovan Bar for a one-night takeover on Monday 26 February in celebration of National Margarita Day.

Two of Mexico City’s leading bartenders will travel to London for the event: Benjamín Padrón Novoa from Licorería Limantour and Gina Barbachano from Hanky Panky.
They will be joined by Donovan Bar’s Salvatore Calabrese.
Celebrating Mexican culture, tradition and mixology, the evening will feature an Altos-based Margarita menu.
Following the event, Altos Tequila will embark on a UK-wide tour, starting in London, moving to Bristol and Manchester and concluding in Edinburgh. Each city will welcome guest bartenders and music from DJ Sussy, who owns Mexico City bar El Micky.
The tour will also feature the Margarita Masters Cocktail Competition at London’s Paloma Café on Wednesday 28 February.
Altos also hosts the Tahona Society Competition to award projects that aim to benefit staff, customers, the bartending community or the environment, with a glass recycling initiative in Colombia taking home the prize last year.
In 2023, Altos launched an infused Tequila range and a line of ready-to-drink (RTD) Margaritas. The brand’s CEO Michael Merolli told us his prediction for Tequila trends and the spirit he thought it could overtake.
Tequila grew its market share last year, according to figures from the Distilled Spirits Council of the US (Discus).
