Venning brothers to bring Three Sheets to Soho
Bartending brothers Max and Noel Venning will open a second branch of their award-winning bar Three Sheets in London’s Soho this March.
The new spot will be situated on Soho’s Manette Street, an area that Max says has “incredible bars already”. He added: “Most importantly, it’s a two-minute walk from the French House.”
The original Three Sheets in Dalston has received plenty of bar industry awards. It was one of the top 10 best international cocktail bars at the Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Awards and was voted UK’s best bar at the Class Awards 2019.
The second site is described as a ‘cosy and modern iteration’ of its older sibling.
Three Sheets Soho will be an all-day affair starting with coffee and pastries in the morning, transitioning into lunch and then onto dinner and night-caps.
The venue will be filled with dark undertones and curved lines, backed by hand-upholstered, dark-green-leather curved banquettes that will sit right of the centrepiece Calacatta marble-topped bar. There will also be a fully retractable facade for summer.
The cocktails
The team say that the cocktails will be unique to the new Soho location, while still maintaining the signature style from Dalston. “Clean and elegant serves made thoughtfully with deceptive simplicity”, as they put it.
Early menu leaks include a French 75, made with gin, clarified lemon, Moscato, orange flower and verjus; a Mango Ice Tea, made with pickled mango, cloud and lapsang teas and rum; and a Scottish Coffee, which brings together buttered Scotch, salted coffee and shortbread cream.
Food-wise, William Blank – previously chef at Lyle’s – will be serving dishes such as salt-beef sandwiches, croquettes and triple-cooked chips.
Max said: “We’re really excited to bring Three Sheets to Soho – there’s no place quite like it and we think the bar’s energy will fit right in.”
The opening date for Three Streets Soho is pencilled in for March 2024.
Last year, the Venning brothers joined Manchester’s Schofields Bar for a night of cocktails using Seven Tails Brandy in London.
