The Tequila is now a million-case-selling brand

Lunazul Tequila sold 1.27 million nine-litre cases in 2023 compared with 918,000 in 2022. This represents a 38% increase in sales last year.

It means the Tequila brand has almost doubled its sales since 2021, when it sold 620,000 cases.

Matt Blevins, chief marketing officer at Heaven Hill Brands, said: “Lunazul is one of the most accessible and exceptional Tequilas in the 100% Blue Weber agave category – with an approachability in pricing that you just don’t get with other Tequila brands in the market.

“We’re excited consumers and bartenders alike are recognising the quality of the brand and turning to it in the on- and off-premise for sipping, celebrating and creating their favourite cocktails.”

Blevins continued to share details about new expressions planned for 2024 “that we are thrilled to share”.

“One of those new bottles is our Extra Aged Añejo, aged in Elijah Craig barrels, launching this spring,” he revealed. “We’re also focusing on developing our international strategy for Lunazul Tequila to determine our priority markets for the next five years.

“No matter what markets we decide to focus on, the undeniable success of Lunazul Tequila is evident in the fact that it has now crossed the one-million-cases-shipped mark.”

Earlier this month, new data showed sales of agave-based spirits are expected to surpass vodka in the US on-trade this year.
