Myatt’s Fields unveils chocolate-cherry cocktail
London brand Myatt’s Fields has created a bottled cocktail for Fortnum & Mason using the department store’s dark chocolate griottes.
The dark chocolate griottes are made with Kentish morello cherries steeped in brandy for a minimum of three years before being dipped in fondant sugar and dark chocolate.
The new cocktail, which is described as an ‘intoxicating blend of sweet cherry and luxurious chocolate, followed by the subtler notes of rich brandy de Jerez’, joins Fortnum’s range of ready-to-pour cocktails, which includes a Vesper Martini, a Robin Roy and an Espresso Daiquiri.
Oscar Dodd, spirits buyer at Fortnum & Mason, said: “It is a pleasure to have worked with Cyrus and Clemency [co-founders of Myatt’s Fields] since the inception of Myatt’s Fields, who were ahead of the curve in bringing superior quality cocktails to the at-home drinking space.
“Their knowledge and meticulous attention to detail shine through in every one of the bottled cocktails we have developed together for the Fortnum’s collection, which continues to surprise and delight our customers with every sip.”
A 350ml bottle can be purchased for £29.95 (US$38) exclusively in store or on Fortnum & Mason’s website.
“Fortnum’s has been a joy to work with since the very start,” added Clemency Penn, co-founder of Myatt’s Fields Cocktails.
“It searches out the very best of the new brands and bends over backwards to help them grow. We’ve been very lucky to have this experience.”
Last week, Myatt’s Fields’ co-founder Cyrus Gilbert-Rolfe hosted a gin event at London’s Conduit Club, which was the first in a series of gin-dedicated evenings that will be taking place in cities across the UK.
