Myatt’s Fields to host gin event in London
Cyrus Gilbert-Rolfe, the co-founder of Myatt’s Fields Cocktails, will host an evening dedicated to gin this Friday (1 December) at the Conduit Club in London.
Titled Distilled History: The Evolution of Gin with Myatt’s Fields Cocktails, the evening promises a ‘journey through time, exploring the fascinating evolution of gin from its ancient origins to the present day’.
Over the course of three hours, Gilbert-Rolfe will take guests through the spirits timeline, starting from how the art of distilling began with alchemists such as Rhazes, to the 17th century when people struggled to pronounce ‘jenever’ and the gin craze of the 18th century, right up to the present day where luxury London grocer Fortnum & Mason has recently opened a gin distillery.
In addition, the event will offer a tasting menu of gin cocktails, that each represent a different epoch in the history of gin.
The event will commence at 7pm and to secure a spot, attendees must either contact hq@mfc.london or visit the Conduit Club website. Spaces are limited.
Distilled History’s London event will be the first leg on a tour that will stop at cities across the UK.
Ready-to-drink cocktail brand Myatt’s Fields was launched in 2017. Earlier this month it released a range of clarified beverages, including an Invisible Lychee Martini.
