Bemakers partners with Wee Smoky
Scotch whisky producer Wee Smoky will work with Danish company Bemakers to promote its range in six European markets.
Wee Smoky is based in Edinburgh and creates whisky for a ‘new wave of cocktail drinkers’.
Its flagship expression is a single grain Scotch whisky that’s finished in peated casks and bottled at 40% ABV.
The brand launched in 2020 with the aim of attracting ‘people who don’t like whisky’.
A spokesperson for Wee Smoky said: “Get your shakers ready! Wee Smoky is taking this international thing to the next level. We’re super excited to see our European friends join our journey in not only breaking the rules of whisky but rewriting them.”
Bemakers operates in seven EU markets and will help to market Wee Smoky in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, France and Denmark.
Bemakers has recently partnered with four alcohol producers: Frisky Panky, Copper & Brave, Coconut Cartel rum, and Spicehaus, a ready-to-drink brand. It currently works with more than 150 brands and has plans to expand to the UK, Spain, Finland and Switzerland.
The distributor also secured a deal with gin brand In The Welsh Wind earlier this year.
Earlier this week it was revealed that UK drinks exports rose by double digits in the 12 months to 31 July 2023, led by demand for Scotch whisky in European markets.
