Sly Dog nets UK on-trade listings
Spiced rum brand Sly Dog will now be available at two experiential hospitality venues in the UK.
The spirit will now be served at PopGolf London, a crazy-golf bar in Boxpark Wembley, and Lane7, which has venues across the UK.
Lane7 has bowling alley bars in 13 cities, including Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and London, and plans to open three new sites soon. A venue will open in London’s Victoria next month.
The rum will feature in Lane7’s signature cocktails served in a stein glass, such as the Big Spiced Sling.
Sly Dog is a spiced rum made with natural ingredients, and boasts ‘bold notes’ and a ‘smooth finish’. It is recommended sipped neat or mixed in cocktails, such as a Mai Tai, Espresso Martini or Screwdriver. Its spiced rum won Gold at The Rum & Cachaça Masters 2023.
The brand recently released a flavoured rum based on stone fruits, which aimed to ‘redefine the way we perceive rum’ by ‘evolving rum away from traditional naval motifs’.
It also secured a distribution deal in Portugal in April.
According to the brand’s website, it sources its rum from a carbon-neutral distillery in the Dominican Republic.
The rum sector could reach US$20.2 billion in value by 2029 due to the increasing popularity of cocktails, according to a report by Maximize Market Research.
