Moth canned cocktails launch in US
Ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail brand Moth will launch in the US this week and has appointed Andy Fennell as chairman of the board.
Four cocktails from Moth’s range – Mojito, Margarita, Espresso Martini and Piña Colada – will be available in six Total Wine stores in Florida, priced at $25 per four-pack of 200ml cans.
Fennell was Diageo’s chief marketing officer until 2013 and president for Africa until 2015. He has since served as a non-executive chairman for multiple companies including Off-Piste Wines and co-founded Drinks Sherpa, an advisory services brand for beverage businesses.
Fennell said: “I am thrilled to join Moth at such an exciting time. Moth has shown remarkable potential and innovation in the industry, and I am eager to help drive the brand’s international expansion.
“With a brilliant team and a clear vision for the future, I believe Moth is poised for tremendous success.”
Rob Wallis, Moth’s co-founder, said: “We’re thrilled to be sharing Moth’s range of excellent blends with US cocktail enthusiasts. We started Moth with one goal: to make the most delicious cocktails in a can to be enjoyed wherever, whenever and with whoever as easily as a can of beer.
“Our range of cocktails, which we are excited to be launching into Total Wine in Florida after seeing the success in the UK, represent some of the most popular classic cocktails enjoyed around the world.
“Every cocktail is bar-strength perfection and made using award-winning craft spirit partners so that each drink is as you’d find in your favourite bar.”
In September, Moth became the first premium, British RTD brand to receive B Corp certification.
