Mindful Brands launches non-alcoholic ‘Tequila’
By Lauren BowesThe founders of non-alcoholic ‘spirit’ Ceder’s have created an alcohol-free Tequila alternative, called Soldadera.

Mindful Brands, founded by Maria Sehlstrom and Craig Hutchison, are behind the premium non-alcoholic ‘spirit’.
The company also created the Ceder’s non-alcoholic ‘gin’ brand in 2017.
In 2021, Pernod Ricard acquired a majority stake in Ceder’s.
“In recent years Tequila has seen a renaissance and its popularity has reached new levels, especially with on-trade and consumers’ greater appreciation of quality Tequila,” said Hutchison.
“However, there are still very few options available for those looking for a non-alcoholic alternative, so we believe that Soldadera is well-placed in the fast-growing non-alc space.”
According to a report by Fact.MR, the global non-alcoholic ‘spirits’ sector is predicted to be worth US$271 billion by 2033.
“Who doesn’t love a perfectly made, tangy and refreshing Margarita? It has always been my favourite cocktail but you simply cannot make a decent non-alcoholic version without a good-quality spirit replacement,” added Sehlstrom.
Soldadera has two expressions: Blanco, a silver Tequila alternative and Café, a coffee variety. Both versions are made with agave.
Soldadera takes its name from Mexico’s Las Soldaderas – the brave woman who participated in the Mexican revolution and inspired an uprising.
The 500ml expressions are priced at £18.99 each (US$23.50) and can be purchased in the UK on Amazon, Dry Drinker and the Mindful Brands website.
Non-alcoholic ‘spirits’ volume climbed by 38% in the UK last year, with agave alternatives more than doubling, according to new data.
