Bombay Sapphire teams up with fashion designer

Bacardi-owned Bombay Sapphire has dipped into the world of fashion for the latest stage of its ‘Saw This, Made This’ campaign that aims to inspire creativity.

In doing so, the gin brand has teamed up with award-winning American fashion designer Christian Siriano to create a special couture collection, with designs inspired by classic cocktails made using Bombay Sapphire gin.

The collection made its first appearance on the runway at Siriano’s Spring/Summer 2024 New York Fashion Week Show last week. The headline gown was based around a French 75, followed by a limited edition capsule collection taken from the gin and tonic, Martini, and Collins serves.

The French 75-inspired gown, for example, ‘transmutes the celebratory cocktail’s zip of bubbles, tang of lemon juice and bright notes of gin’.

The design itself also reflects Bombay Sapphire’s signature blue bottles and is infused with Bombay Sapphire-dyed fabrics.

Off the runway, the collection will be available to purchase in autumn, just in time for the festive season and the cocktail parties that come will ensue.

The Saw This, Made This campaign launched with a collaboration featuring Baz Luhrmann (The Great Gatsby, and Elvis) where the film director made a short film with Bombay Sapphire.

It continues what’s been a busy year for Bombay Sapphire, having showed off their new global travel retail-exclusive gin in June, and a Premier Cru Murcian Lemon gin back in February.

As for fashion and spirits, they are no strangers, the opposite in fact – as recently as earlier in September, Irish distillery Waterford designed a fashion line with London-based menswear brand Lestrange.
