The 2023 Los Angeles Rum Festival will be held next month

The 2023 Los Angeles Rum Festival will return to the Majestic Ballroom on 8 September, following its inaugural event last year.

A trade session will be held from 4pm-5.30pm PDT for industry professionals. Reservations are recommended as spaces are limited.

Consumers can also purchase tickets for three different sessions.

The Rum Aficionados General Tasting Session will be held from 6pm to 9pm, offering a tasting cup from The Neat Glass and consumer seminars.

The VIP Rum Enthusiasts Session (5pm-9pm) will allow visitors to enter the event an hour early and will provide an exclusive tasting cup by The Neat Glass and access to one VIP seminar.

The VIP Rum Experts Session, from 4pm to 9pm, will offer all of the above but will also include access to two VIP seminars and consumer seminars.

The seminar programme will include a VIP session on ‘The Spirit of Haiti’ by La Maison & Velier from 4.15pm to 5pm, exploring the styles of five producers from five different villages.

The National Rums of Jamaica will host a 45-minute workshop on the country’s rum history and cocktail culture for VIP ticketholders from 5.15pm to 6pm.

From 7pm to 7.45pm, guests can learn about 100% estate-grown rum in a discussion exploring the brands and companies using locally grown raw materials.

The ‘Holy Trinity and Other Tropical Potions’ talk (8pm-8.45pm) will focus on rum cocktails, diving into the past and rituals of rum-based drinks on various Caribbean islands.

The final seminar of the day will look at the ‘misconception of Spanish-style rum’ from 9pm-9.45pm.

The Rum Lab has partnered with Los Angeles hotels The Proper Hotel and The Freehand to give attendees exclusive discounts. More details can be found on the event website.

In June, The Rum Lab held the New York Rum Festival as part of its 2023 event schedule.
