Altos launches ‘emergency’ lime delivery service

Tequila brand Altos has debuted Hot Lime, an ‘emergency’ delivery service that will courier limes to the front doors of ‘distressed Margarita makers’ who find themselves without the ingredient.

According to research cited by Altos, two-thirds of Brits said they have run out of limes when preparing a Margarita at home.

Operating in London, Manchester and Glasgow for two days, city-dwellers can call on the Hot Lime Delivery Service to get free limes delivered to their door.

Comedian, podcaster and presenter Alice Levine stars in a new campaign video for the service, which shines a ‘witty spotlight’ on the ‘emotional impact of underestimating your lime supply’.

The video features the My Dad Wrote a Porno presenter helping a party host out of a citrus crisis before relaxing in a bath full of limes.

Levine commented: “Contrary to my well-orchestrated propaganda, when I host a dinner party I am often very disorganised. It’s not uncommon for me to have forgotten a key ingredient and only realise, in a panic, at the last minute.

“Thankfully my Margaritas don’t need to rely on my memory, with the Altos Hot Lime Delivery Service. Host credentials preserved, drinks crises averted.”

The free-of-charge delivery service is facilitated through an exclusive phone number, delivering ‘fresh limes in no time’ in a delivery van decked out with green flashing lights, giant limes on top and ‘emergency limes’ alerts around the side.

Simon Hodgson, brand ambassador, Altos Tequila, said: “We’ve all been there, we go to mix a Margarita and end up underestimating our lime supply, reaching out for the lemons, or worse.

“Altos has been voted the best Tequila for Margaritas four times since 2019, so we don’t want any of our drinkers to suffer a bad cocktail at the hands of a lime emergency. This summer, we’re going to extreme lengths to make sure the nation’s Margs are perfect with the brand new Hot Lime service.”

Altos’ research found the average person has two cocktail recipes in their repertoire, and more than three-quarters (86%) agree that a party isn’t impressive unless cocktails are being served.

Meanwhile, 66% of those surveyed said they would judge a host if they ran out of drinks at a party.

The Altos Hot Lime Delivery Service will be operating free-of-charge in London, Manchester and Glasgow on 21 July between 5pm-12am, and 22 July between 12pm-12am, local time.

The Margarita was recently named as the UK’s favourite cocktail.
