Nobu debuts limited edition Tequila

Restaurant group Nobu has partnered with Qui Tequila to produce a limited edition small batch extra añejo expression for its venues across London.

The Nobu Rare 2008 Reserve by Qui Tequila is created with a blend of agave harvested in both 2007 and 2008.

The Nobu Rare is said to be one of the first Tequila releases that focuses on the year the agave was harvested, and has been described as the ‘crown jewel’ of the Qui Tequila line.

It has been aged in traditional American whiskey oak barrels before maturing in steel tanks.

The liquid delivers aromas of wood, tobacco, caramel, and vanilla, with a full and rich palate, while flavours of sweet oak, toasted almond, and a hint of maple, ‘validated’ by the palate of chef Nobu, give the Nobu Rare a long, buttery finish.

The Tequila’s golden honey hue is complemented by a crystalline decanter decorated to provide ‘a truly elegant and unmatched’ drinking experience.

Only 12 bottles of the exclusive Tequila are available to purchase in each of Nobu’s London-based properties – Nobu Hotel London Portman Square, Nobu London Old Park Lane, and Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch – priced at £1,300 (US$1,620) each.

The Tequila is also available to sample at each of the London locations, including the renowned Nobu Bar at the Portman Square site, priced at £88 (US$109.72) for a 50ml measure.

To celebrate the European launch, exclusive Qui tequila and Nobu Rare 2008 Reserve cocktails have been curated by Sophie Bratt, bar manager of Nobu Bar at Nobu Hotel London Portman Square.

The Nobu Rare 2008 Reserve is also available at Nobu locations worldwide and at quitequila.com.

Nobu at the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos in Mexico has been shortlisted in the Spirited Awards’ Best International Hotel Bar – Latin America & Caribbean category.
