Mintis Gin launched in 2021, and is now distributed in more than 27 countries, including Austria with In Good Spirits, in Bulgaria with beverage supplier Cherry Picking, and in Croatia with Valentic Drinks.

Mintis Gin co-founder Stepan Stanek said: “We are extremely excited to work with GS Distribuzione Italia to accelerate the growth in the home country of Mintis Gin over the coming years. We are delighted to have found a partner that will focus on the Mintis Gin brand and that prizes independence, inspiration and uniqueness as much as we do.”

The gin is hand-made using Italian mint from Pancalieri, known for its ‘fresh aroma’ and well-ripened fruits, according to the brand.

Four expressions make up Mintis’ gin portfolio: Originale, made with mint and lemons; Clementine, crafted with clementines and mint; Amarena Cherry, which sees dark cherries distilled with mint; and Blackcurrant, which also includes a ‘hint of mint freshness’.

Antony Supino, CEO of GS Distribuzione Italia, commented: “While Italy, like many other countries, has seen a big influx of gin over the last years, nothing catches the eye in the same way as Mintis and the liquid really stands out from the crowd. It’s a brand we are really looking forward to working with and I am sure it‘s going to be great.”

Each bottling is made without added sugar or colours, and all are vegan-friendly. The gins are presented in custom-made bottles inspired by fresh mint bunches, and the vessels are said to ‘reinforce the value of the gins’.

The brand won two Gold medals in The Gin Masters 2022 blind tasting.

In more gin news, British glass packaging firm Croxsons recently designed the bottle for chef Gordon Ramsay’s London Dry gin, created in partnership with Scottish distiller Eden Mill.

Plus, celebrities have started venturing into the category, with Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie debuting their own juniper-based bottlings.
