Katy Perry extends alcohol-free apéritif line
Pop star Katy Perry’s non-alcoholic apéritif brand, De Soi, has added a new flavour to its line-up, inspired by rosé wine.
De Soi Trés Rosé joins the brand’s existing three variants: Golden Hour, Champignon Dreams and Purple Lune, all of which are vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO, and contain no artificial flavours or colouring.
Inspired by the French ethos of pleasure with restraint, De Soi is pronounced ‘de swa’.
Perry co-founded the brand with Amass master distiller Morgan McLachlan in 2022, who combined ethnobotany and ‘natural’ distilling methods to create adaptogenic drinks that provide a relaxing effect while delivering ‘sophisticated flavour profiles’, and allowing drinkers to ‘indulge sensibly’.
Trés Rosé is described as a bold and balanced rosé-inspired ready-to-drink (RTD) canned apéritif, and is said to evoke the ritual of sparkling brut rosé while boasting notes of bright red fruits and subtle florals.
The drink is made with a blend of adaptogens including lion’s mane combined with ‘soothing’ saffron, and relaxing botanicals such as rooibos.
Trés Rosé is presented in a canned format that features playful patterns and shades of pink so as to capture the ‘essence of summer’.
The new expression can be purchased online in packs of four at www.drinkdesoi.com for US$25, or in single cans from select retailers across the US.
Très Rosé will be available in 750ml bottles this autumn.
The other expressions in De Soi’s range are available in 750ml bottles or ready-to-drink cans featuring packaging inspired by French New Wave cinema with a ‘contemporary twist’.
In other non-alcoholic news, zero-ABV ‘spirits’ brand Wilderton will open what is thought to be the first dedicated non-alcoholic distillery and tasting room in the US next month.
