Bob Dylan’s whiskey appoints UK distributor

Musician Bob Dylan’s Heaven’s Door whiskey has named Paragon Brands as its new UK distributor, taking over from When We Are Giants.

The whiskey brand is a result of a partnership between the Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright singer Dylan and Spirits Investment Partnership.

The Heaven’s Door range includes the  Tennessee Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Double Barrel Whiskey, and Straight Rye Whiskey.

Chris Jones, managing director at Paragon Brands, said: “Our philosophy at Paragon Brands has always been to work with premium, rare, and unusual brands that offer UK consumers a point of difference in a crowded marketplace.

“When it came to adding a Bourbon into the range, we had to find something which would complement our portfolio of pioneering spirits, specifically a brand that has quality, substance, and a rich story to tell.”

The appointment of Paragon Brands follows the whiskey brand’s recent plan to open a distillery in Pleasureville, Kentucky, in September.

“We’ve seen a real uplift in the industry of brands that have something to say and represent the values of their creators and patrons, with 16% of adults globally more likely to purchase a premium alcohol brand associated with a notable figure they admire and trust,” continued Jones.

“With Dylan as a key partner of the brand, he is an integral part of the development process, which makes this an incredibly exciting brand to have on board.”

The brand was launched in the UK and Ireland in 2020 through a distribution deal with When We Are Giants.

Alex Moore, chief operating officer and master blender for Heaven’s Door, said of its collaboration with Paragon Brands: “Their expertise and passion for delivering premium brands align perfectly with our vision for Heaven’s Door, and we look forward to an exciting partnership that will bring our exceptional whiskies to whisky enthusiasts across the UK.”

In 2018, spirits producer Heaven Hill Distilleries filed a lawsuit against Dylan’s Heaven’s Door, claiming it infringed its trademark rights.
