Corky’s gets new design and recipes
Global Brands-owned schnapps Corky’s has been given a ‘colourful’ redesign and new recipes to increase its consumer base.
The ‘bright’ geometric design aims to increase the 15% ABV brand’s presence on back bars.
Global Brands said the new look comes as low-ABV shots are growing at 88% year on year, faster than high-ABV shots, while sour shots are growing at 68% year on year (CGA 2022 data).
In the on-trade last year, Corky’s has seen ‘strong growth’ with increases for its core flavours: Passionfruit (up 75%), Mango (up 49%), Apple (up 9%) and Blueberry (up 9%).
Charlie Leaver, head of brand at Global Brands, said: “Corky’s has been at the centre of nights out since 2002, and this bold, bright rebrand will engage with the new generation of consumers and a wider demographic.
“This rebrand focuses on everything that Corky’s is about: positioning us as the go-to low-ABV shot at the centre of nights out, while enhancing brand recognition and appeal in venue with an even more recognisable and eye-catching bottle that draws in consumers.”
Alongside the rebrand, the range has been reformulated with sour flavours in line with the brand’s best-selling variants – Sour Cherry and Sour Apple.
The new line-up now includes Sour Passionfruit, Sour Raspberry, Sour Blueberry, and Sour Mango.
“The new flavours are sure to create a buzz in venues – we’re absolutely thrilled with the liquids and they’re going to build on the popularity of Corky’s Sour Cherry and Corky’s Sour Apple,” Leaver added.
The rebrand will be backed with merchandise and point-of-sale support, as well as events, influencer collaborations, competitions and social media activity to place Corky’s ‘at the centre of a big night out’.
The range is stocked across Wetherspoons, Carlsberg Group, Molson Coors, Marston’s, and more.
It can also be purchased through LWC Drinks, Matthew Clark and other major wholesalers.
Earlier this year, Franklin & Sons producer Global Brands acquired a trio of drinks brands, including Hooch, from Molson Coors Beverage Company.
