Bacardí Mango Chile is said to capture the sweet and spicy flavours of a popular Mexican fruit snack that sees fresh mango sprinkled with Tajin seasoning and lime juice.

After a ‘successful’ launch in Mexico last year, the brand has debuted the bottling in the US.

“We’re so thrilled to bring Mango Chile to the US, especially after its knockout launch year in Mexico, which led Bacardí to become the top-selling flavoured spirits portfolio in the country,” said Maria Galis, Bacardí global innovations director.

“As a leader in the rum category, we’re always looking to push the boundaries of what our rum can do. The sweet and spicy mixture of Mango Chile is the perfect flavour expression for summer, especially as an easy-to-drink chilled shot. It’s smooth, crisp and tastes like it came straight from your local fruit cart.”

Bacardí recommends serving the 35% ABV rum chilled in a shot glass garnished with a Tajin chilli-spiced rim.

Mango Chile can also be used to create a series of cocktails ‘for any warm weather occasion’, adding a ‘hot twist’ to classic Bacardí serves such as the Mojito and the Rum Rita.

Mango Chile is the eighth flavour in Bacardí’s portfolio currently available in the US. It joins Bacardí Coconut, Lime, Limón, Pineapple, Dragonberry, Raspberry, and Tropical.

Bacardí Mango Chile retails for RRP US$12.99 for a 750ml bottle, and is available in US liquor stores, bars, and restaurants, as well as mobile delivery services such as Instacart.

It will also be featured at Bacardí’s music festival programming throughout the summer, with custom Mango Chile pop-ups and sampling opportunities at Governor’s Ball, Lollapalooza, Sueños, plus more.

Last year, we examined the rise of the flavoured rum category.
