Sir Edmond Gin expands global presence
Dutch brand Sir Edmond Gin will launch in Poland, India, Colombia and Indonesia this year.
Sir Edmond Gin will be launching its bourbon vanilla-infused gin into more countries, as it marks a year of continuing its global expansion.
In the past 12 months, Sir Edmond Gin has launched in Canada, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Slovakia, Denmark and France.
With its upcoming debut in Poland, the gin will be available in 30 countries.
Co-founder Dominique Makatita said: “Looking back at 2022, we are extremely happy with the steps we have made with entering our new markets. 2023 again started with several great collaborations.
“We are very grateful to be working with such dedicated distribution partners and for their enthusiasm and belief in Sir Edmond Gin.”
Earlier this month, the gin brand partnered with spirits importer Union Commerciale des Vins de France (UCVF) to distribute the gin in France.
The brand’s flagship gin is infused with vanilla pods from Réunion Island, and also features juniper, cardamom, cinnamon, angelica and ginger botanicals.
“In recent years, we have seen that our unique flavour profile appeals to a wide audience,” Makatita continued. “Sir Edmond Gin is an accessible and extremely distinctive gin.
“We appeal to newcomers who are just starting their gin journey and fanatic gin drinkers who want to try something unique.
“Consumers understand vanilla; either you like it, or you don’t. Bartenders easily understand how to use vanilla as a building block in their cocktails; it’s an ingredient that gives a lot of smoothness to their creations.
“Retail also understands vanilla; it is easy to remember and explain to their customers. Vanilla is universally loved, and it is scientifically proven that eight out of 10 people have a positive emotion towards it, making Sir Edmond Gin a commercially attractive product.”
Makatita said the brand was on a “mission” to be one of the “most versatile gins” available on the market, with the brand’s production guided by one of the oldest distilleries in the Netherlands, dating back to 1777.
“Our star ingredient, bourbon vanilla, comes from the best places in the world, located on Réunion Island and Madagascar,” he added. “So, that we can always ensure the highest quality of vanilla possible. Sir Edmond Gin is the world’s first bourbon vanilla-infused gin.”
