Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who co-founded Teremana Tequila, famously said “know your damn role, and shut your damn mouth” during his wrestling days.

This is the first ready-to-drink (RTD) investment from the NFL tight end champion Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Casa Azul Tequila Soda launched in August 2022 and is now available from retailers in California, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Colorado, Arizona, and Louisiana.

The RTD is made by combining sparkling water with Casa Azul Tequila, natural fruit flavours, and agave nectar.

Kelce said: “Not only do I know how to get wins on the board, I also like to make sure everyone is having a good time anywhere I go.

“I’m excited to turn up and announce my investment in Casa Azul Tequila Soda. To all the other hard seltzer brands out there, know your role and shut your mouth.”

Casa Azul Tequila Soda is available in a variety eight-pack, comprising four flavours: Lime Margarita, Strawberry Margarita, Peach Mango, and Watermelon. Single flavour four-packs are also available.

Canned at 5% ABV, Casa Azul Tequila Soda contains 100 calories per can.

Lance Collins, founder of Casa Azul Tequila, said: “Travis is one of the best players in the league, and he’s also an influencer off the field in media and lifestyle.

“Kelce’s investment in Casa Azul Tequila Soda will help introduce our RTD beverages to a new audience of sports fans who are seeking the best of both worlds – the real spirits and flavour found in canned cocktails, but with the low calories and low carbs of hard seltzers.”

Recent data from IWSR Drinks Market Analysis showed Tequila has overtaken American whiskey to become the second most valuable spirit category in the US. IWSR anticipates Tequila will overtake Vodka to scoop the top spot by the end of the year.
