The original Mermaid Gin, Mermaid Pink Gin and Mermaid Zest Gin are now available to US customers.

Xavier Baker, co-founder of the gin, said: “The brand has seen huge success in the UK and Europe and we hope to see it gain further momentum globally with the launch in the US.

“With gin sales volumes rising in the US, we feel this is a good time to be launching our gins to US customers and look forward to working with our distributors to grow the brand throughout the US in 2023.”

In addition, the brand secured listings with luxury cruise operators Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises, which are both based in Miami, Florida.

The original Mermaid Gin is a London Dry gin, hand-crafted using 10 botanicals. It delivers flavours of fresh lemon zest and peppery grains, with a hint of rock samphire foraged from the Isle of Wight shoreline.

Meanwhile, the Pink Gin is infused with ‘wonky’ strawberries that would otherwise have gone to waste.

The Zest gin presents notes of grapefruit, bergamot, lemon zest and wild-foraged coastal rosemary.

The brand, which also produces a vodka, achieved B Corp status recently.

The gin range is produced in the UK at the Isle of Wight Distillery, the ‘first and only’ distillery on the Isle of Wight.

Isle of Wight Distillery claims to minimise waste and source local and ethical ingredients for its bottlings. The bottles are plastic-free, and have been crafted from recyclable glass with a natural cork stopper and tamper-proof seal made from corn and potato starch.

The labels on the neck of the bottles are made from recyclable, biodegradable paper.

US consumers can purchase Mermaid Gin through Total Wine & More, Park Street and Union Beer.

All gins retail for US$34.99.
