Yellowstone Family Recipe heads to Europe
Luxco-owned Kentucky distillery Limestone Branch will release its limited edition Yellowstone Family Recipe Bourbon in Europe.
The product will enter Europe on 1 March 2023, with the company aiming to bring the Bourbon to other markets outside of the US.
Previously only available to buy from the Kentucky distillery, 2,400 bottles of Family Recipe will be shipped globally after the ‘success’ of the brand’s flagship Bourbon Yellowstone Select.
Greg Mefford, international sales director at Luxco, added: “It’s great to have a limited run of a one-off expression, which harnesses the adventurous spirit of the Limestone Branch Distillery team, whilst also giving the brand’s fans something special to try.”
Bottled at 50% ABV, the six-year-old Family Recipe Bourbon is said to have an ‘adventurous’ flavour profile.
Stephen Beam, master distiller at Limestone Branch Distillery in Lebanon, Kentucky, describes the product as “incredibly complex” with “intense flavours”.
“Yellowstone Family Recipe has hints of oak, tobacco, and candied nuts, with citrus and marzipan on the palate,” he said.
“It’s a bold expression with a nutty finish, which we really think Bourbon fans across the UK and Europe will enjoy.”
The expression was made using an original recipe found by Stephen in a notebook owned by his grandfather, Guy Beam.
Stephen used the original yeast duplicated from a jug belonging to his great-grandfather, Minor Case Beam, to create the new whiskey.
The Yellowstone brand has seen a 60% rise in sales year-on-year in the US.
Yellowstone Family Recipe will be released in the brand’s ‘high-demand’ markets including the UK and Germany. It will be priced at RRP of £64.99/€74.99 (US$80).
The Bourbon will be distributed by Lightbox Brands in the UK and Perola in Germany.
In July, Limestone Branch debuted a limited edition Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon finished in Marsala Superiore casks.
