Bushmills to auction Causeway Collection

Irish whiskey producer Bushmills will virtually auction its 2021 Causeway Collection to raise funds for The Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust.

This is the first time the 2021 Causeway Collection is available as a complete set

The auction will see 12 complete sets of miniatures from the 2021 Causeway Collection go under the hammer.

The exclusive sets will be auctioned one after the other to the highest bidders over four days from the 7-10 December.

The rare, limited edition whiskeys were originally released exclusively to eight different markets worldwide.

Now fans of the distillery have a unique opportunity to taste all 12 expressions.

The collection includes extremely rare single malt whiskeys, including a 32-year-old Port cask bottled at 50.1% ABV, a 1991 Madeira cask presented at 50.2% ABV, and a 30-year-old new American oak cask bottling that rests at 48.4% ABV.

No auctioneers’ fees or commissions will be charged, allowing 100% of the winning bids to be donated to The Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust. The charity helps to preserve the ‘natural splendour’ of the North Coast.

Beginning tomorrow (Wednesday 7 December), three individual auctions will run daily; the first at 7pm GMT, the second at 8pm and the final auction of the day at 9pm.

Fans will only have just one hour to place the highest bid before each auction closes. The auction is available to bidders in the UK and Ireland.

Earlier this year, Bushmills released the 2022 edition of The Causeway Collection, which included its oldest whiskey to date.

In June, the brand partnered with the company behind British drama Peaky Blinders to create a limited edition whiskey ahead of the debut of the show’s final series.

In other auction news, this week Brewdog Distilling prepared to embark on its first whisky-cask sale, which will see 50 barrels go live on Whisky Hammer from 7pm GMT on Wednesday 7 December.
