Kavalan’s Solist French Wine Cask Single Cask Strength is bottled at 57.1% ABV

Solist French Wine Cask Single Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky is available in Kavalan’s stores in Taiwan and the distillery gift shop.

The 57.1%-ABV expression has notes of pomegranate, soft honey, and deep tannins on the nose, alongside sweet melon, guava, and apple.

The palate provides chewy fig, plum, juicy grapes and ripened melon.

The whisky will be priced at RRP NT$6,600 (US$205) per 750ml bottle.

Kavalan’s four boutique stores across Shanghai will release an engraved Special Release edition of the bottle at an RRP of RMB¥2,088 (US$286).

The distillery’s latest Shanghai boutique was opened at the Shanghai Suhe Centre Green Park complex on 13 October.

Kavalan also has a concept store in Shanghai, designed in collaboration with Tian An Group and British designer Thomas Heatherwick. The design of the store includes copper and wood, inspired by the distillery’s oak casks and copper stills.

The store’s green backdrop represents the Lanyang Plain, the home of Kavalan in Yilan County. The distillery’s water source, the Snow Mountain range, is silhouetted on the counter and walls.

In August last year, Kavalan opened its Kavalan Bar & Shop inside Taiwan’s landmark building, Taipei 101. It offers Kavalan’s complete spirits range, whisky flights and cocktails.

The first Kavalan store opened in Taipei City in March 2009.

In June 2022, Kavalan revealed a new packaging design for its King Car Conductor whisky.

In November, the distiller launched a new expression matured in three different Sherry casks.
