Black 1752 targets spiced rum fans
Innovative spirits producer Amber Beverage Group has unveiled another exciting new release that is sure to intrigue spiced rum enthusiasts: Black 1752.
“Black 1752 was officially launched with great success at Bar Convent Berlin in 2022. Hundreds of bartenders and other industry professionals were drawn by the eye-catching branding, expressing interest in the new brand with its delicious cocktails made with Black 1752. Brand presentations, product tastings, and meetings with potential partners filled all three days of the exhibition. The global brand management team is aiming to open new markets and new accounts for Amber Beverage Group’s new party brand Black 1752,” said Maris Kalnins, global portfolio director for mixology at Amber Beverage Group.
Black 1752 blends dark Caribbean rum with herbal infusions and spices. On the nose, drinkers can expect zesty orange, mellow vanilla and rum aromas. The palate, meanwhile, is brimming with more vanilla and orange, and a rum sweetness with hints of spice. The finish is smooth, bittersweet and leaves a long vanilla aftertaste.
The product’s name derives from two key qualities found in Amber Beverage Group’s herbal bitters brand – Riga Black Balsam: the colour black, and the year the brand was founded, 1752.
Kalnins enthused: “Packaged in its elegant, embossed bottle with an attention-grabbing bright orange and black label, this product stands out in terms of both appearance and taste. It is a great-quality, enjoyable spiced spirit that will light up any party, as it is easy to serve and enjoy in very simple cocktails, with just a favourite mixer such as cola, or poured neat as a shot or to sip.”
Crafted at the Amber Latvijas balzams distillery in Riga, Latvia, Black 1752 boasts an ABV of 35%. Spirits fans can get their hands on a bottle for RRP £19.50 (US$19) in the UK, and €17 in the EU.
“We don’t view this new product as being strongly seasonal, yet we do envisage different serves at different times of the year, with long drinks being the favourite for summer and shots being the focus for winter serves,” Kalnins added.
