Hennessy partners with Berluti

LVMH-owned Hennessy Cognac has teamed up with fashion brand Berluti to create a case for its Richard Hennessy blend.

A custom-made cardholder sits inside the case

The handcrafted Berluti case features a central cut-out to present the Cognac, and is inspired by the partners ‘common values’ of excellence, transmission and elegance.

The case is partially made from calf leather, which is lined, perforated, and sewn by hand.

A custom-made cardholder sits inside the case, embossed with the Hennessy and Berluti names.

Meanwhile, the decanter for the liquid was designed by architect Daniel Libeskind, and holds what the brand describe as Hennessy’s ‘finest Cognac’.

The bottling was crafted by eighth generation master blender Yann Fillioux. It is a blend of liquids matured in wooden casks for ‘decades or centuries’, and boasts notes of leather and preserved fruits on the palate.

The Hennessy X Berluti case launches this month (October), and only 150 will be available to buy at Hennessy Houses and at the new Hennessy Editions Rares Boutique at Harrods.

The box, containing the decanter, can be purchased for RRP €40,000 (US$38,800).

The Cognac brand recently released 500 bottles of its Paradis Golden Edition on NFT marketplace Blockbar, retailing for RRP US$2,500 each.

We recently sat down with Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, the master blender for the LVMH-owned brand, to discuss the brand’s long‐term approach and the process behind one of its rarest liquids.

Plus, last month the brand recruited actor Paolo Sorrentino for its new Hennessy VSOP advert.
