Whistlepig names new CMO and CSOBy Melita Kiely
Vermont-based whiskey producer Whistlepig has appointed a new chief marketing officer and a chief sales officer.
Sarah Long steps into the role of chief marketing officer, while Duffey Sida has taken up the post of chief sales officer.
Long brings 20 years of experience in brand management, marketing, sales and innovation to the company. She will be responsible for the Whistlepig brand and its integrated marketing strategy.
Long previously worked as chief marketing officer at Mars Wrigley and Rémy Cointreau, respectively.
“Whistlepig has proven itself as an unrivalled player in the whiskey industry and I’m honoured to join a team of boundary-pushing whiskey wizards,” Long said.
Sida has worked in spirits sales for 20 years and has spent time at firms including Campari and Constellation Brands.
Sida will lead Whistlepig’s sales team to grow its route to market in the US and internationally.
“In the 20 years that span my spirits sales career, I’ve never had a position quite like the one with the indie leader of craft whiskey,” Sida commented. “To say I’m excited is an understatement.
“I’m eager to find ground-breaking avenues for creating strategic sales growth and expanding our relationships with whiskey distributors and fanatics.”
Whistlepig’s Piggyback 100 Proof Bourbon featured in SB‘s compilation of the top spirits launches in August.
In July this year, Whistlepig released its youngest expression to date: Piggyback 100% Rye.
It followed the launch of the company’s first UK cocktail competition in April, called No History No Rules.
