London Cocktail Week reveals new 2022 format

The 13th edition of London Cocktail Week will be held in four hubs across the city next month – a first for the annual event.

This year’s London Cocktail Week will be “more inclusive” by showcasing other parts of the city

In March, the organisers confirmed the event would run for 11 days from 13 to 23 October 2022, spanning two weekends.

The event will host four ‘Little Cocktail Villages’ across London, each with immersive pop-up bars.

The new areas are an evolution of main hub The Cocktail Village, which was previously based in Old Spitalfields Market, east London.

The organisers have now revealed the locations of the ‘micro-hubs’ – Eccleston Yards in Belgravia, Borough Yards in Southwark, Covent Garden in the West End, and Devonshire Square in Liverpool Street.

London Cocktail Week organisers Hannah Sharman-Cox and Siobhan Payne said in a joint statement: “It was important to us that the festival structure echoes the requirements of our bar partners, brand partners and of course our guests.

“We love to showcase our festival and our city to their full potential – stretching to four Little Cocktail Villages felt like a natural next step for 2022.

“We can’t wait to make this year’s festival even bigger, even more inclusive and showcasing even more areas of the city.”

Entry to the mini hubs will be free and visitors can enjoy specially created cocktails for £7 (US$8) each after buying a wristband for £15 (US$17).

Around 300 bars across London have created signature cocktails that can be purchased at the discounted price.

Participating venues include Tāyer + Elementary, Blue Bar at The Berkeley, Punch Room at The London Edition, and Artesian at The Langham, alongside new bars such as Seed Library, The Aubrey at Mandarin Oriental, and Soda & Friends.

The festival has also partnered with seven drinks firms and more than 30 brands to provide a programme of events.

Partners include Amber Beverage UK, Bacardi-Martini, Brown-Forman, Edrington, Moët Hennessy, Pernod Ricard and Rémy Cointreau.

The 11-day event will include masterclasses, dinners, parties and takeovers with bartenders from across the world.

The full schedule of events will be released later this month. Wristbands are available to purchase now from londoncocktailweek.com
