Swift to open third London venue
By Georgie CollinsAcclaimed bar Swift will open its third venue this October in the London neighbourhood of Borough.
Swift Borough will host the same art-deco aesthetic as its sister venues, which are located in Soho and Shoreditch, alongside a menu of ‘world-class’ cocktails.
Co-founder Bobby Hiddleston commented: “Borough is such a quintessential part of London, known the world over for its amazing produce, restaurants and nightlife. We are delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with such a vibrant community to bring our vision of Swift Borough to life.”
Swift Borough’s two-storey space will mirror the Soho original, with a light and bright no-reservations space upstairs offering a curated menu of classically-inspired cocktails and aperitivos, while downstairs will offer a more intimate, seated-only area.
An original, high-concept menu will be served in the basement, created by the team that will be led by venue manager Rachel Reid, who previously held the role of senior bartender at Swift Soho.
The bar will partner with neighbouring Borough Market’s community of stallholders to spotlight seasonal produce on a monthly basis.
Swift’s original site located on Old Compton Street in Soho was launched in November 2016 by bartending husband-and-wife duo Bobby Hiddleston and Mia Johansson, alongside co-owners Rosie Stimpson and Edmund Weil (owners of speakeasy bars Oriole and Nightjar).
Since its opening, the bar has been awarded multiple accolades including the title of Best New Bar at Tales of the Cocktail and GQ’s Bar of the Year.
