Rum Lab to tour West Coast

US-based organiser The Rum Lab has unveiled the schedule for its West Coast tour 2022, which will present three rum festivals next month.

Educational platform The Rum Lab will host Seattle Rum Fest, San Francisco Rum Festival, and Los Angeles Rum & Tiki Festival in September. More than 120 rum brands will be showcased.

The inaugural Seattle event will take place on 2 September at Washington Hall.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco iteration will be held at Hibernia Bank on 4 September.

Finally, the Majestic Ballroom will host the first Los Angeles Rum & Tiki Festival on 9 September.

The events will have a similar schedule layout and will be divided into three sessions: the Spirits Industry Session, involving brand representatives networking for 1.5 hours with industry professionals, plus training seminars and tastings; the General Admission Grand Tasting, a three-hour programme featuring tastings and brand seminars; and a VIP Grand Tasting Session, offering attendees early admission, an exclusive tasting cup, rum tastings, and seminars.

Specific seminars featured include Hawaiian Rum, on its history, harvest and production; Cane Juice is the Future of Rum, exclusive to the Los Angeles festival; and Basics to Sipping Premium Rum.

The Rum Lab will also partner with The Ultimate Awards to host the People Choice Sipping Rum competition in all cities, allowing visitors to vote for their favourite expression.

Earlier this year, The Rum Lab revealed its schedule for the sixth annual Chicago Rum Festival in April.
