Pembrokeshire Gin opens bar
By Alice BrookerWelsh producer the Pembrokeshire Gin Company has opened its new premises featuring a bar and mezzanine lounge in Pembroke Dock, Wales.
Located at grade II-listed Old Market Hall, more than 230 guests were in attendance at the launch party.
Director Charlotte Clark said: ”We had such an overwhelming response to the building being open again, especially from local people who were sad to see it empty for so long.
“I really hope we can bring something different to Pembroke Dock and am very hopeful for the future of the gin company in such a prestigious, historic building.”
The space comprises a mezzanine bar and lounge overlooking the main floor, with a courtyard outside allowing for extra seating in the warmer months.
The Spirits Business spoke to Clark on her plans for the new distillery earlier this year, plus her ambition to produce whisky.
Last year, the gin brand created its first TV campaign with Ad Smart from Sky, after becoming a recipient of Sky’s SME100 support scheme, which offers advertising support to up-and-coming businesses. Pembrokeshire Gin Company was one of 100 small businesses across the UK that received £20,000 (US$27,600) as part of the initiative.
