Berkshire Botanical opens dedicated distillery

Halewood Artisanal Spirits-owned Berkshire Botanical has opened a distillery on the UK county’s Yattendon Estate.

The distillery is located on the Yattendon Estate in Berkshire

Founded in 2019 by Whitley Neill founder, Johnny Neill, the Berkshire Botanical range was originally crafted in a small still at The Royal Oak pub in the village of Yattendon, Berkshire.

The Yattendon Distillery, located at Child’s Court Farm, boasts a brand new 200-litre copper pot still, allowing the brand to significantly increase its production capacity to make way for its growing product portfolio.

Neill commented: “Since launching Berkshire Botanical, we’ve always wanted to open up a larger distillery on the Yattendon Estate, so it’s brilliant to finally be up and running. It’s been a really exciting few years for us, as we have focused on producing a quality range, as well as increasing distribution and sales both in the UK and globally.

“With the opening of the Yattendon Distillery, we now look forward to welcoming people to our brand home, and further growing the Berkshire Botanical range”.

The Dry Gin is made with Norway Spruce

The range includes Berkshire Botanical Dry Gin, Rhubarb & Raspberry Gin, Honey & Orange Blossom Gin, Dandelion & Burdock and Sloe Gin.

The company continues to take inspiration from the flora and fauna of the local area and sources local ingredients where possible. The botanical Norway Spruce, used in its acclaimed Dry Gin, is from the Yattendon Estate, which is famed for its Christmas Tree farm.

Berkshire Botanical works closely alongside the Berkshire, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust, providing investment to support wildlife conservation projects in the Berkshire area.

The range is available from Waitrose, Tesco and Booth’s, local retailers, farm shops and on-trade outlets across the country.
