Shakespeare Distillery debuts Citrus Vodka

UK-based Shakespeare Distillery has launched a Citrus Vodka as part of its limited edition Distillery Special range.

The special edition Citrus Vodka clocks in at 40% ABV

It is the first time the independent artisan spirits producer has distilled vodka, having previously distilled gin and rum at its distillery in Stratford-upon-Avon, in the Cotswolds.

Simon Picken, director of Shakespeare Distillery, said: “We’re delighted to launch our Citrus Vodka in time for the summer and add another Distillery Special to our portfolio of premium, handcrafted products.

“The vodka is distilled slowly to create a refreshing, super smooth burst of sunshine with no added sugar, colourings or artificial nonsense.”

The Citrus Vodka is said to be ‘bursting’ with the flavours of fresh oranges and lemons that are hand-peeled at the distillery. It is recommended served long with ginger ale and a squeeze of lime, or as a classic Cosmopolitan using Citrus Vodka, Cointreau, lime juice and cranberry juice.

The Citrus Vodka is 40% ABV and retails at £34 (US$40.91) for a 500ml bottle, £17.50 (US$21) for a 200ml bottle, and £6.50 (US$7.92) for 50ml bottle.

The vodka can be purchased from the distillery’s website, at the distillery shop or from Shakespeare Distillery’s retail shop in Stratford-upon-Avon.

In May, Shakespeare Distillery launched a limited edition gin for the Platinum Jubilee.
