London Essence champions experimental serves

Premium mixer brand London Essence is encouraging consumers to look beyond the classic gin and tonic and ‘try something new’ this summer.

London Essence has created a catalogue of modern cocktail recipes using its 11 mixer varieties

The brand, founded in 1896, has built a portfolio that has been designed to inspire both consumers and the on-trade to be more experimental.

The London Essence premium collection currently comprises 11 mixer varieties, including Indian Tonic Water, the Pink Grapefruit Crafted Soda Water and White Peach & Jasmine Crafted Soda Water, the Delicate Ginger Ale and Spiced Ginger Beer, and the Crafted Lemonade, all offered in 200ml single-serve bottles.

London Essence also offers five draught tonics offered through its ‘innovative’ tonic on tap proposition for hospitality venues.

With 6.3 million consumers opting for cocktails as a way of experimenting with new spirits (CGA Mixed Drinks Q3 2021), London Essence supports the on-trade in response to the consumer desire to seek more adventurous and contemporary serves that go beyond the traditional spirit and mixer category, such as twists on classic cocktails.

Amongst the most popular of London Essence’s recommended serves are the brand’s twists on the classic Mojito, Paloma and Mule.

London Essence has also created a catalogue of its own modern cocktail recipes for venues to offer consumers, allowing the on-trade to diversify its offering and tap into the experimental trend.

As passion fruit continues to be a popular consumer flavour, the brand has created the Elderflower Summer Passion; a serve comprising 50ml premium vodka and 20ml passion fruit puree, topped up with London Essence Elderflower on tap tonic water.

Taking inspiration from the growing aperitif category, the brand has developed the Rosita cocktail to create its Tequila Rosita Spritz. The cocktail is served in a chilled balloon glass over ice, with 25ml Tequila, 10ml Aperol and 25ml sweet rose vermouth, topped with London Essence Grapefruit on tap tonic water.

The brand has also looked to modernise the Jungle Bird cocktail for both the on- and off-trade markets by combining 40ml Tequila, 5ml Campari and 10ml agave syrup with a top of London Essence Roasted Pineapple Soda Water, served in a chilled highball glass and garnished with a mint leaf.
