The company, which is listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), said it expects to be listed and to begin trading on the main board of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading (SGX-ST) from tomorrow (14 July).

Emperador said it expects to meet the conditions set out in the eligibility letter from the SGX-ST, which includes disclosing the latest share price of the company on the PSE and the Singapore dollar equivalent.

Winston Co, group president and CEO of Emperador, said: “The secondary listing of Emperador on the SGX is a key milestone in the development of our business as a leading international brandy and whisky company, reflecting our global reach and the strength of our world-class portfolio of brands.

“This will expand opportunities for participation by investors in Singapore and beyond as we continue to invest in our ambitious international expansion.”

Upon the proposed listing, the Philippines-headquartered company will maintain its primary listing on PSE and stock will be traded simultaneously on both exchanges. Emperador said it will be the first PSE-primary listed company to conduct a secondary listing on SGX-ST.

Founded in 1979, Emperador is the biggest brandy maker in the world and the largest spirits producer in the Philippines.

The company also owns the world’s fifth-largest Scotch whisky producer, Whyte & Mackay, and the oldest brandy maker in Spain, Bodegas Fundador. Whyte & Mackay’s portfolio includes single malt brands The Dalmore, Jura, Fettercairn and Tamnavulin.

Emperador’s brands are distributed in more than 100 countries, with production and distribution businesses in the Philippines, Scotland, Spain and Mexico.

The firm’s main markets are the Philippines, Greater China, the UK, Spain, Mexico, the US, Germany and France.

Emperador is a subsidiary of Alliance Global Group, which operates businesses across real estate, food and beverage, tourism entertainment and gaming.
