Healthy Hospo hires managing director
Not-for-profit organisation Healthy Hospo has named London-based bartender Jason-Candid Knüsel as managing director.
Knüsel will be taking on day-to-day operations and leadership of Healthy Hospo, working to expand awareness of the business and launch new projects.
He said: “Sustainability is a word we have been using over the past years, often to describe our relationship with resources. Now, more than ever we need to re-define our relationship with the biggest resource and asset we have in our trade – our own people.
“I am incredibly grateful for what Tim and the organisation stand for. It is an extraordinary opportunity for our industry to access the tools Healthy Hospo provides, but it’s also up to us all to shape the upcoming future by making the active changes we want to see in our trade.”
Tim Etherington-Judge founded Healthy Hospo in 2017. He will continue to be involved in a strategic and advisory role within the non-profit.
He added: “I could not be more excited to have Jason join Healthy Hospo to guide us towards a bright new future. He has forged a brilliant reputation as one of the brightest lights in the UK’s bar scene with his passion, enthusiasm, intelligence, and vision for a better future for our industry. I have no doubt that Healthy Hospo will reach new heights under his leadership.”
In April, the company created a global survey about the health of workers within the hospitality industry. The survey was released with the aim of “addressing the right areas and we can measure changes in the industry, and see the impact our work is having,” according to Etherington-Judge.
