Campari revamps pre-mixed Negroni
By Nicola CarruthersItaly’s Campari Group has redesigned its bottled Negroni, which can make four servings of the classic cocktail.
The new Campari Negroni Ready to Serve has been created to meet demand for pre-made cocktails that can be served at any time. The 375ml bottle has been relaunched with a new ‘elegant’ design.
“People have been enjoying the Negroni cocktail for more than a century, and its popularity is still growing today,” said Andrea Sengara, head of marketing, Campari America.
“With the ready-to-serve format now available, consumers can enjoy the world’s number one classic cocktail anywhere, and with ease.”
Combining equal parts Campari, London Dry gin and sweet vermouth, the drink is best served over ice and garnished with a slice of orange.
Campari said the drink is made using the same cocktail recipe from more than 100 years ago. According to the brand, the drink was envisioned by Count Negroni in 1919, who asked a bartender to add a touch of gin rather than soda to his Americano in honour of his last trip to London.
The expression is said to offer a mix of juniper, sweet citrus, spice, and herbal notes paired with a wormwood and bitter root finish.
Campari said the new offering is perfect for hosting a cocktail party, dinner or aperitivo hour at home.
The Campari Negroni Ready to Serve (26% ABV) bottled cocktail is available to purchase from select retail stores in the US, and on Reserve Bar and Drizly for an RRP of US$24.99.
