Last call for Cardrona competition entrants
By Nicola CarruthersNew Zealand-based Cardrona Distillery has issued a final call for entries to its inaugural cocktail competition and revealed the venues for its UK heats.

The 2022 Cardrona Club Competition is accepting last entries today (1 April).
The competition invites UK and New Zealand-based bartenders to submit a signature cocktail using 25ml of any of Cardrona’s spirits, including its vodka, gin, liqueurs and single malt whisky.
The New Zealand-based distiller will select 12 bartenders to compete in 10 regional finals across the UK and its home country during April and May 2022.
UK regional finals will be held in Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton and London.
The Dome restaurant in Edinburgh will host the Scotland heat on 25 April, with judges Siân Buchan and Becky Paskin.
The Midland regional will take place on 9 May at cocktail bar 40 St Paul’s in Birmingham, with judges Adrian Whitehouse and Dave Marsland.
Paskin and Buchan will also form the judging panel for the South England heat, to be held on 23 May at The Bronze bar in Brighton.
On 13 June, London finalists will compete at The Prince Akatoki hotel in Marylebone, and will be judged by Will Meredith and Andrea Dionori.
The UK finals will end with the North England round at cocktail bar and restaurant 10 Tib Lane in Manchester on 27 June, with judges Marsland and Whitehouse.
Recently appointed brand ambassador Tom Sutton will act as the host for the UK regional finals.
Regional finals in New Zealand will be held in Queenstown, Christchurch, Wellington, Tauranga and Auckland.
One finalist from each round (six from the UK and six from New Zealand) will be selected to attend the grand final in Cardrona, New Zealand, in September 2022.
Cardrona Distillery was founded by Wanaka businesswoman Desiree Reid-Whitaker, who recently made our list of top female-founded drinks brands.
