Bodegas Suau revamps brandies
By Alice BrookerSpanish drinks group Beveland Distillers has unveiled a refreshed packaging design for its Bodegas Suau brandies.

The new look will be applied to four of Mallorca-based Bodegas Suau’s brandies: Suau 15, Suau 25, Suau 50, and Suau Orange.
Recycled glass, also known as ‘wild glass’, will be used for the brandies, and the bottles will feature the words ‘Brandy Mediterráneo’ to remind consumers that the ageing of the brandies takes place on the island of Mallorca.
The glass will also be undulated to represent the waves of the sea – a reference to the origins of the brand, which started in 1851 with shipments between Spain and Cuba.
While the Suau 15 label will feature a classic font and Mallorcan ship, the 25- and 50-year-old brandies will have a smaller adhesive label and an engraved logo plate.
The Suau 15 plate is silver, while the Suau 50 plate is mixed with a rust green to reflect the passage of time by the sea, according to the brand.
Suau 15 is said to have a mouthfeel reminiscent of wine alcohol fermentation and notes of oak wood and vanilla.
Meanwhile, the Suau 25 is a slightly spicy liquid, with flavours of toasted wood, dry fruits, vanilla and walnuts.
The Suau 50 presents hints of ripe, fleshy fruits and a mixture of aged wood on the nose, with caramelised fruits on the palate.
Finally, the Suau Orange bottle has been redesigned with two shades of orange. The liquid is produced with orange peel from Sóller, Mallorca, and is said to taste of sweetness, bitter orange and lemon.
All four brandies clock in at 37% ABV.
Beveland Distillers recently extended its Caracas Club collection of rums with two new flavoured variants: Caracas Club Coffee and Caracas Club Honey.
Last year, Beveland entered the mezcal category with its brand Planta Santa, made in Oaxaca, Mexico.
