Halewood Artisanal Spirits has added to its Whitley Neill Gin portfolio with an Oriental Spiced bottling.

The new gin retails for RRP £26 (US$34.25)

Whitley Neill Oriental Spiced Gin clocks in at 43% ABV, and is inspired by founder Johnny Neill’s travels to the Indian subcontinent in the late 1990s. It is distilled with flavours familiar to the region.

James Stocker, marketing director for Whitley Neill Gin, commented: “The City of London Distillery and Bar, the home of Whitley Neill Gin, provides us with a fantastic tool to listen to what gin fans are looking for and experiment with new botanicals and flavour combinations.

“We’re seeing tremendous scope for growth within the dry gin category, and our new Oriental Spiced Gin plays perfectly into this area, with peppery and savoury spice notes – perfect for people with a more savoury palate.”

The liquid’s juniper is balanced by cardamon with a bright sweet citrus, resulting in a juicy character, and followed by notes of cumin. The finish is long and peppery. The gin is presented in a white bottle displaying the spices and botanicals used in the crafting of the gin: coriander, turmeric, ginger, chilli, cumin, saffron and star anise.

Whitley Neill Oriental Spiced Gin is available to order now for an RRP of £26 (US$34.25). It will be rolled out across UK supermarkets Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury’s throughout March and April.

Yesterday (9 March), Halewood revealed its Grand Cocktail Competition, which will task UK bartenders with creating their own products to be mixed in cocktails for the chance to win £1,000 (US$1,313).

Plus, in recent news, the Dead Man’s Fingers rum owner moved production of its JJ Whitley vodka back to England, two years after it opened a multi-million-pound distillery for the brand in Russia.
