The Arch Bar debuts royal cocktail menu

London-based The Arch Bar has unveiled a new drinks list inspired by royal artwork to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee this year.

Pop Art is one of the cocktails available to purchase on the new menu, for £16 (US$21.72)

Consisting of 12 serves, The Royal Cocktail Collection menu is inspired by the Royal Collection, said to be one of the largest reserves of art in the world. The Platinum Jubilee celebrates Elizabeth II’s 70-year anniversary as Queen in 2022.

The list includes The Music Lesson, which is based on a 17th century painting of the same name by Johannes Vermeer. The artwork is currently displayed in Buckingham Palace’s Picture Gallery. The sip is a fruity twist on the classic Espresso Martini, blending vanilla vodka, cacao and orange curaçao, hazelnut, and coffee together.

Also on the menu is The Golden Brooch, a Tequila-based tipple. Combining the agave spirit with jasmine agave, blackcurrant, and pink grapefruit, it is topped with a flower to symbolise the rectangular golden brooch presented to the Queen on her first state visit to Mexico in 1975.

Next up is The Twopenny Blue Stamp, which mixes kumquat rum, papaya, pineapple, ginger and and lemongrass honey in a long-stemmed glass. Garnished with an edible ‘two penny’ stamp which displays Queen Victoria, the serve is inspired by a rare blue Mauritian stamp from 1847, which is valued at £2 million (US$2.7m).

Other drinks on the menu include The Sovereign’s Sceptre, The Royal Family, Pop Art, Self-Portrait, Duke of Wellington, and the Study of the Heart.

The cocktails are priced at £16 (US$21.72) each.

The venue, located on Park Lane, close to The Bar at The Dorchester, offers the menu from noon to midnight daily.

Last week, Eve Bar, the London venue from chef Adam Handling, unveiled a collection of cocktail NFTs – thought to be the first of its kind from a UK hospitality group.
