Patrón creates Margarita museum pop-up
Tequila brand Patrón will celebrate International Margarita Day with a pop-up museum in London exploring the history behind the serve.
The Bacardi-owned brand will host a one-off experience in homage to the Tequila-based cocktail on International Margarita Day next Tuesday (22 February).
The Museo de Margarita pop-up will be located in London’s West End at the Noho Studios, with bookable time slots from 3.30pm to 8.30pm GMT.
The two-hour experience will investigate the birth of the Margarita, exploring the cocktail through the decades from Prohibition to the creation of the ‘genre-defining’ Tommy’s Margarita.
Visitors will also be given limited edition cocktails inspired by the past, present and future of the Margarita, and created by four UK-based bartenders.
Cocktails on offer include a 1920s Margarita, created by the Artesian’s Guilla Cuccurullo; a sweeter take on the 1930s-1940s cocktail ‘Daisy’ from the Patrón Perfectionists 2021 competition’s UK winner Kat Stanley-Whyte, of Uno Mas bar in Edinburgh; a Margarita-style twist on the 1950s-1970s ‘Blue Ocean’ made by Maxim Schulte, of London’s Kol; and the Blood Orange & Mint Mirror Margarita from Deano Moncrieffe, owner of agave spirits den Hacha in London.
Guests will also learn how to make a Margarita in a cocktail masterclass hosted by Patrón brand ambassadors.
Tickets are available for £15 (US$20) per person, which will include a sample of each of the cocktails.
In August 2021, Bacardi partnered with bars across the UK to offer Patrón Tequila-based Paloma cocktails.
