No.3 Gin prepares for 2022 cocktail competition
Next month, No.3 Gin will begin accepting entries into its 2022 Pursuit of Perfection cocktail competition.
This year’s iteration of the contest will launch on 1 March. For the first time, the competition will accept entries not only from the UK, but also Italy and Germany.
Entrants are invited to submit a cocktail recipe using No.3 London Dry gin, taking inspiration from the spirit’s three key flavours: juniper, citrus or spice.
Bar professionals should pick one flavour profile and design a drink that’s ‘innovative, exciting and in tune’ with the brand’s taste, while outlining the story behind the drink.
International experts will help with the initial shortlisting before regional heats take place across the UK and Europe. Successful entrants will win a place in the final, which will be held at No.3 Gin’s distillery in Schiedam, Holland.
The top four bartenders from each country will win an all-expenses-paid trip to the distillery. The winner from each country will also enjoy a bespoke handmade prize, which will be revealed at a later date.
The overall champion will win £5,000 to create their own bar takeover in a location of their choice, with hands-on input from the No.3 team.
The final is scheduled to take place on 21 September. More details can be found at no3competition.co.uk.
Berry Bros & Rudd, owner of No.3 Gin, made its ready-to-drink No.3 Vesper Martini a permanent fixture in the UK last year.
