Fever-Tree launches in South Korea

Tonic and mixer producer Fever-Tree has expanded its global presence and released its range in South Korea.

Fever-Tree tonics and mixers are available in more than 80 countries worldwide

The range of tonics and mixers available include Fever-Tree’s Premium Indian Tonic Water, Ginger Ale, Ginger Beer and Soda Water. The brand is distributed in South Korea by Bohae Brewery.

Tim Warrillow, co-founder and CEO of Fever-Tree, commented: “As one of Asia’s fastest-growing markets, South Korea presents a great opportunity for us to elevate the nation’s favourite serve, the soju tonic or ‘so-tonic’, and increasingly the highball, with our  premium mixers.”

Fever-Tree recommends pairing its Indian tonic water with soju, a distilled alcoholic drink native to Korea. It is the second largest alcoholic category behind beer, according to Fever-Tree.

“We are excited about our partnership with Bohae Brewery to help South Korean consumers mix with the best,” Warrillow added.

“We have seen that quality has broad appeal and the trends we identified at the outset are only accelerating. We are helping to make great-tasting drinks more accessible both at home and to a new culture of drinkers.”

Fever-Tree is available in more than 80 countries worldwide. The brand also reported that South Koreans’ spending on alcohol was forecast to grow by 8.3% in 2021.

Last month, Fever-Tree revealed its revenue had grown by 23% in 2021, boosted by ‘significant momentum’ in the US. The brand reported £311.1 million (US$418.3m) in revenue, compared with £252.1m ($339m) for the previous 12 months.

The brand also revealed in October that all of its products in the UK are carbon neutral.
