1800 Tequila teams up with Daniel CordasBy Alice Brooker
Tequila brand 1800 has collaborated with streetwear artist Daniel Cordas to launch 500 exclusive bottles in the UK.
The 1800 Tequila bottle features a unique design by Cordas, which pays homage to Mexican street art.
Cordas has previously worked for the likes of musicians Billie Eilish, Stormzy and Chipmunk, as well former boxer Floyd Mayweather.
He said: “Mixing colour and composition with the same slickness as an 1800 Margarita, I’ve infused authentic Mexican folk art with my own signature floral style.
“The iconic agave plant is at the heart of my design, honoured by this cocktail of colour. The limited run of bottles has been produced directly from my painting and pay homage to Mayan artistry and its influence on contemporary art.”
1800 Tequila is aiming to celebrate its commitment to the arts, particularly urban art and street culture, with the bespoke bottle.
The design consists of vibrant Mexican folk art and the iconography associated with it. Among the 500 bottles distributed, consumers should keep their eyes peeled for one that has been hand painted by Cordas.
To mark the partnership with 1800 Tequila, Cordas is also offering to translate the art onto a limited edition pair of sneakers worth £1,000 (US$1,356). Other prizes include a limited run of prints and t-shirts featuring Cordas’ Mexican-inspired artwork.
To enter the prize draw, consumers are required to purchase a bottle of 1800 Silver Tequila from participating Tesco and Waitrose retailers. Drinkers can scan a QR code on the bottle, which will take them to a webpage to enter the competition.
The bottle retails for RRP £45 (US$61), and will be available in UK-based department store Harrods exclusively for a week starting 15 February. Following this, the bottle will be distributed to other retailers including Harvey Nichols, Hedonism, Amazon and Selfridges.
Earlier this year, 1800 Tequila partnered with the National Football League (NFL) team Las Vegas Raiders to bring cocktails and a tailgate experience to the Allegiant Stadium in Nevada, US.
