St James Bar appoints head bartender
By Alice BrookerAcclaimed London-based St James Bar has hired Angelo Sparvoli as its new head bartender.

Sparvoli, a 28-year-old Italian native, previously worked at the American Bar at The Savoy and Kwānt bar in Soho, London.
Sparvoli takes over the role from Stanislav Andreuskevic who joined the venue in August 2021, but left in November that year.
Kostas Bardas, bar manager at the venue, said: “I am very excited to welcome Angelo at St James bar in Sofitel London St James. His passion and vision for bartending, alongside his well-established experience in prestigious bars will elevate our five-star offering even more.”
Sparvoli began honing his bar talents working in venues in Italy and Portugal from 2013.
Three years later, in 2016, he settled down at the American Bar at The Savoy, in Covent Garden, London, where he progressed from barback to bartender. Sparvoli was also able to travel extensively in this position, from Asia to New York to Lima, Peru.
In October 2021, the venue teamed up with perfume house The House of Creed to launch three new cocktails for its Imagination menu. The drinks list, which launched as a follow up to its Passport menu, claims to use a scientific, sustainable and abstract approach towards cocktail making.
