Irish whiskey-based botanical spirit Carlow launches

Anora Group has launched a botanical-infused spirit drink as the first product under its new Irish whiskey brand Carlow’s.

The 700ml spirit drink is available in Finland for RRP €28.99 (US$32.71)

Anora Group, the result of a merger between Altia and Arcus, has kicked-off its Irish whiskey brand Carlow’s portfolio of ‘untraditional and modern Irish whiskey’.

Carlow Cuttings is described as a smooth and fruity spirit, and is the first of three products to be launched in the Nordics by the brand.

“This is a unique launch, the first of its kind in the Nordics, and we are excited to present an Irish [spirit drink] that doesn’t have to be in the context of tweed jackets and Chesterfield furniture,” commented Mika Raukko, category manager at Anora.

“Whiskey is no longer a drink for others. Carlow opens up the world of Irish whiskey for all of us.”

Cuttings is the first of three Carlow bottlings to be released in the Nordics, and clocks in at 37.5% ABV.

The tipple includes ingredients typical to Ireland’s County Carlow, such as thyme, yarrow, linden flower and rosemary. The next product expected to launch in the Nordics is Counting Days, a blended Irish whiskey.

Carlow recommends the botanical spirit drink is served over ice or mixed with a spicy tonic, and the 700ml bottling is available to buy for RRP €28.99 (US$32.71) in Finland.

Last year, Anora Group tapped into the demand for low- and no-alcohol with the launch of three new products: two non-alcoholic ‘spirits’ and an alcohol-free canned seltzer.
